Popular questions about Nord VPN
What Is NordVPN?
NordVPN is a popular virtual private network (VPN) service provider that was established in 2012 and currently operates over 5,700 servers in 60 countries. As a VPN service provider, NordVPN protects the online security and privacy of its users by connecting to a remote VPN server that hides the original IP address and secures all the information that is sent or received by routing it through an encrypted tunnel.
NordVPN makes all of this very simple with its VPN app, which supports all operating systems and is optimized to work just as well on mobile devices as on personal computers. All the user has to do to establish a secure VPN connection is launch the app, select a VPN server, and connect to it—it’s that simple!
Unlike many other VPN service providers, NordVPN is 100% transparent with its users, and it has a strict no-logs policy that states that will never track, collect, or share any private data. This policy has been verified by an independent audit conducted by one of the largest and most respected auditing firms in the world. Needless to say, NordVPN passed the audit with flying colors, proving what its long-term users had already known: that it can be trusted even with the most personal data.
NordVPN How Many Devices?
Most people today are used to juggling multiple electronic devices and never being without an internet connection for more than a couple of minutes. Since our digital lives have become so diverse, it makes little sense to secure only some devices while leaving other devices open to hackers and snooping.
With a single NordVPN account, you can secure up to 6 devices at the same time, and it doesn’t even matter which operating system they use because all major operating systems, including Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS, are fully supported.
Best of all, you can set up NordVPN directly on your wireless router to enjoy the always-on security and privacy regardless of whether you use 1 device, 6, or 20. That’s right! Each NordVPN-enabled router counts as one device, so you could theoretically share your NordVPN subscription with friends to save money. Just keep in mind that too many simultaneous connections could negatively affect your VPN speed and stability.
Where Is NordVPN Based?
Even though its name evokes Nordic countries, NordVPN is based in Panama, a relatively small country that links Central and South America. The fact that NordVPN selected Panama as its base is good news for its users for one very important reason: Panama is one of the most VPN-friendly countries in the world.
For starters, the country doesn’t participate in the Five Eyes or Fourteen Eyes alliances, both of which are intelligence alliances whose members include the United States, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and other countries. The members of these alliances have agreed to share information between one another, and we know—thanks to documents leaked by Edward Snowden—that intentionally spying on one another's citizens and sharing their findings.
Furthermore, Panama also doesn’t have any data retention laws, so NordVPN isn’t obliged to store user activity logs, which the company never does, as it proved by voluntarily undergoing an industry-first audit of its no-logs policy. The audit was performed by one of the largest and most respected auditing firms in the world, and the full audit report is now available to all NordVPN subscribers.

What people says about Nord VPN
Transparency For someone concerned about his privacy like me, service transparency is important. NordVPN has achieved a lot in this regard by having been audited by a third party, namely PriceWaterhouseCoopers. I also like their choice of the Switzerland branch, as this is a country with a serious business reputation. The audit confirmed their no log policy and its results were made available to all users.
Good but a bit expensive After researching several options, I decided to try NordVPN. So far, the results have been good. Privacy is well maintained via their double encryption technology, the speed is reasonable and the features available are aimed at different user levels, including sophisticated ones. However, when I needed to consult customer service, the ticket was not promptly answered. This caused a delay in my work that was unnecessary. Considering that NordVPN is slightly more expensive than other alternatives, this problem should not have occurred.
